Need to get to stuff before Yahoo does

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Again, more old news, that was posted almost a week ago, and that Yahoo got to first.
First off, some organization made a study about what laptops fail most often. The given chart shows hardware malfunctions only. Moral of the story, don’t buy an HP. Buy a Toshiba.

Second, Dell is apparently a pack of jerks, as evidenced in an article about false advertising.

What Dell’s been doing is putting out ads that say something along the lines of “no interest,” then slamming its customers with its almighty finance branch.

Good thing all my computers are secondhand.

It’s Black Magic!

We were bored during collaboration in school today, so watch decided to do some black magic! We turned water into ice without freezing it.

I hope we don’t get burned at the stake.

Not-really-breaking News

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Well, it’s not really news if Yahoo got to it first, right?
and even more so if the Discovery Channel (no surprise there) got to it before Yahoo?

Either way, it’s an update, and the site’s been sitting here for a little over a week.

Apparently phones (and presumably computers with mics) will be able to analyze the sound of a cough to give a diagnosis of various diseases, like the cold or pneumonia. The sound of a cough should be different due to mucus affecting the sound. I’m assuming it won’t be quite as reliable as a germ sample, but if this saves some useless trips to the doctor, then it could be quite a convenience.

Also, I’m wondering how it would diagnose my constantly runny nose.
